1. Acceptance of these Terms
These Terms of Use (“Terms”) are a legal agreement between you and Bookify (“we,” “us,” “our”) governing your use of the Bookify mobile application, website, and related services (together, the “Service”). By downloading, accessing, or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
2. Eligibility & accounts
To use most features you must create an account with a valid phone number, which we verify by SMS code. You are responsible for keeping your account credentials confidential and for all activity under your account. If you are a minor, you may use the Service only with the involvement and consent of a parent, guardian, or school. You agree to provide accurate information and to keep it up to date.
3. Your licence to use content
When you buy or redeem a book, we grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to download and read that book within the Service for your own educational use. You do not acquire ownership of the book or any intellectual property in it.
You may not, and may not attempt to: copy, share, resell, sublicense, rent, or redistribute books; remove, bypass, or interfere with the encryption or digital-rights protections; extract, screenshot, record, or reproduce content except as expressly allowed; or access content on a device other than as the Service permits. Books are encrypted and bound to your device; sharing an account or credentials to give others access to paid content is prohibited.
4. Purchases & redeem codes
In-app purchases. Digital books and features are sold as in-app purchases processed by the Apple App Store or Google Play. Your purchase is also subject to the applicable store’s terms, and the store handles billing. Prices and availability may change.
Redeem codes. Some titles can be unlocked with a redemption code obtained through legitimate channels (for example, with a physical book or from an authorised distributor or promotion). Codes are single-use unless stated otherwise, have no cash value, and may not be sold, transferred, or used to circumvent purchasing content. We may invalidate codes obtained fraudulently.
5. Refunds
Because purchases are processed by the Apple App Store and Google Play, refund requests are handled according to those stores’ policies. Please contact the relevant store to request a refund. Where required by law, additional rights may apply.
6. AI study assistant
The AI study assistant is provided as a convenience to help you understand your books. Its responses are generated automatically, may be incomplete or inaccurate, and should not be relied upon as professional, academic, or exam advice. You are responsible for how you use its output. Do not submit sensitive personal information to the assistant. See our Privacy Policy for how this content is processed.
7. Acceptable use
You agree not to: use the Service for any unlawful purpose; interfere with or disrupt the Service or its security; reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to derive source code except as permitted by law; use bots, scrapers, or automated means to access content; or infringe the rights of others. We may take action, including removing access, for violations.
8. Intellectual property
The Service, including its software, design, logos, and the books and materials offered through it, is owned by Bookify or its licensors (including publishers) and is protected by intellectual-property laws. Except for the limited licence in §3, nothing in these Terms transfers any right or ownership to you.
9. Suspension & termination
You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time from within the app. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms, if required by law, or to protect the Service or other users. On termination, your licence to access content ends, though certain records may be retained as described in our Privacy Policy.
10. Disclaimers
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement, to the fullest extent permitted by law. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure, or that content or AI output will be accurate or complete.
11. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Bookify and its suppliers will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, revenue, or goodwill, arising from or related to your use of the Service. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law.
12. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app. Your continued use of the Service after an update means you accept the revised Terms.
13. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Lebanon, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles, and the courts of Lebanon will have jurisdiction, except where applicable law provides otherwise. (Adjust to your registered jurisdiction before publishing.)
